FAQ & Help

Answers to the most common questions about DocumentAnalyse. Question not listed? Write to us.

What is DocumentAnalyse?

DocumentAnalyse analyzes, compares and structures documents with AI — contracts, invoices, offers or bank documents. Results are organized into a repeatable workflow and can include source references where available; single PDF analyses can additionally use mechanical source matching. The knowledge base also lets you learn from your own documents or build complete learning paths.

Which file formats and sizes are supported?

PDF, PNG, JPEG, WEBP and TXT; Word (DOCX), Excel (XLSX), CSV and Markdown are converted to text directly in your browser on upload — tables are preserved as rows/columns, but embedded images and charts are NOT analysed and page numbers are lost (legacy .doc/.xls formats are not supported). Tip: export Word/Excel as PDF — layout and page references are then preserved and visual elements can be included in the analysis. Single analysis: up to 40 MB per file. Compare & Multi-Analysis: up to 25 MB per file (50 MB total, 2–4 documents). Knowledge base: 15 MB total. Password-protected PDFs are supported: you'll be asked for the password on upload and the file is unlocked directly in your browser — the password never leaves your device and is never stored.

How do credits work?

Every action consumes credits from your monthly quota: single analysis 1 credit, document comparison (2 documents) 2 credits, multi-analysis 1 credit per document (2–4), optional deep verification +1 credit. Knowledge base: document summary 1 credit, learning plan 1 credit (+1 with reference documents), each lesson 1 credit. If an analysis fails, the quota is refunded automatically. The monthly quota renews at the start of each billing period (example: subscribed on the 20th — new credits on the 20th of each month); unused monthly credits expire at the end of the period. With an active subscription you can also buy one-time credit packs — purchased credits never expire, are consumed after the monthly credits and require an active subscription; if you resubscribe later, they become available again. See the pricing page for all plans.

Which languages does DocumentAnalyse support?

The interface and results are available in German, French and English. Documents can also be processed in other languages, although quality depends on the language, readability and document complexity. Quotes remain in the original language.

What happens to my documents?

Your documents are processed solely to produce your analysis and are transmitted to the Google Gemini API for that purpose. Uploaded files are deleted automatically on a regular basis; your analysis reports remain in your history until you delete them. No public AI training is performed on your documents. Details in the privacy policy.

Can the AI make mistakes?

Yes. Every analysis is generated by AI and may contain mistakes. Results can include quotes and page references where available; for single PDF analyses, DocumentAnalyse can additionally check mechanically whether a quoted passage is found on the stated page in the extracted text. Important results should always be checked against the original document. The analyses do not replace legal, tax or professional advice.

What is deep verification?

An optional second AI pass that checks every claim of the first analysis against the document and flags unsupported items. It costs 1 additional credit and is recommended for particularly important documents.

How many documents can I compare?

2 documents in the classic comparison, up to 4 in the multi-analysis — with a selectable analysis focus (prices, contract clauses, missing information…) and an optional custom question.

What can the knowledge base do?

Two things: first, structured learning summaries from your own texts and files; second, complete learning paths on any topic — with modules, lessons, exercises and progress tracking. Optionally you can add your own reference documents (e.g. internal standards), which are given priority in the plan and every lesson.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. After signing up and confirming your email address you receive 10 free analyses, valid for 7 days — no credit card required, with access to all features. No subscription starts automatically: after the trial you decide freely whether to subscribe.

What happens when the trial ends?

Once the 10 analyses are used or the 7 days have passed, no new analyses can be started. Your previous results remain available in your history. To continue, choose one of the monthly-cancellable subscriptions.

Can I use the free trial more than once?

No, the free trial is granted once per person. To prevent repeated trials we permanently store only an irreversible check value (hash) of the email address — never the address itself. Details are described in the privacy policy.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Anytime in your profile via "Manage subscription & payments" — the secure payment portal opens where you can cancel, view invoices or change your payment method. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Alternatively by email to contact@documentanalyse.com.

How does the right of withdrawal work?

As a consumer you have 14 days (§ 355 BGB). If you expressly consent to immediate service provision at purchase, the right of withdrawal may expire upon full performance (§ 356(4) BGB). Full details are in the withdrawal notice.

Where do I find my invoices?

In your profile via "Manage subscription & payments" in the payment portal. You can view and download all invoices there.
